Moral Issues.Hizumi began life as a morally strong individual, who believed in justice and heroics; however he found himself losing control of his beliefs because of his precarious relationship with Kiyotaka. Kiyotaka is able to convince Hizumi that no matter how hard he fights, he will still be forced to follow the “fate” Kiyotaka predicted for him because it is the only “just” path. Because of Kiyotaka, Hizumi is forced to kill Kanone in order to advance Kiyotaka’s predictions. It’s not that he wanted to, but more that he believed he had to.
As previously stated Hizumi is not all that adept with weapons but he kills Kanone using a gun. It is obvious that Hizumi must have felt at least some guilt because he is never able to hold a gun straight during his battle against Ayumu; and while it’s never reavealed whether or not Hizumi falters because because Ayumu is the next person he held a gun to or because he is truly afraid of harming another person after what he did to Kanone, it shows that even though Kiyotaka ruined him, Hizumi can’t fully rid himself of his own convictions.
Hizumi is morally sound however he is possibly a victim of circumstance. Without the situations and restrictions put on him by his fate Hizumi most likely would have done something meaningful with his life that helped people rather than destroyed their lives. Even Eyes understands that Hizumi was not at fully fault in Kanone’s death and is able to forgive Hizumi for killing Kanone. |
