Behind the Name

After a fair amount of research into dictionaries and Japanese name sites I have found the most likely translations out there for Hizumi's name. His first name, Hizumi is used spelling the characters for fire (火) as well as an indeterminate character (at least to my basic level of knowledge). His last name Mizushiro is separated into two parts. The first is Mizu which most likely translates to water even though it uses strange characters of (ミズ). This counteracts the apparent affinity for fire that his first name represents, which can be seen in Hizumi’s inner conflicts over how to support or destroy Ayumu in order to break the circle and save (or kill) the Blade Children. The second part of his name shiro which when using the character of (シロ) can be defined as white. Hizumi is well known for wearing white (and beige) shirts in stark comparison to Ayumu’s black shirts, not only is it contradictory to their roles (Ayumu as a god, and Hizumi as a devil) but it also represents Hizumi’s mental state. Hizumi is constantly trying to find good in the world by looking at Ayumu, he wants to find a light in his dark, forced existence.

Below is a Kabalarian profile for Hizumi which determines the characteristics that may be implied by a person’s name. Although the name Hizumi creates the urge to be self-expressive and generous, we emphasize that it causes restless intensity that defies relaxation. This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the liver, bloodstream, and solar plexus. Your name of Hizumi has made you versatile and creative. There is hardly anything you cannot do if you put your mind to it, but a driving urge leads you to one experience after another, seldom finishing what you start. You cannot find peace of mind or lasting contentment in anything you do. As soon as a challenge is met, boredom sets in, and you yearn for another experience. This restlessness makes it difficult for you to assume responsibility and to establish stable, progressive conditions in your life.
